During the snowy January of 2015, lo-fi pop musician Jasper Boogaard started recording dreamy, jangly, drummachine driven pop songs under the moniker Goodnight Moonlight. This lead to several EP’s including his fourth release entitled Mountain Boy, released on cassette by the label he co-founded, Coaster Records. The EP was well received by various websites including Noisey, Kicking the Habit and 3voor12. After that he released his first international release ‘What’s for Dinner?’ on Japanese indie label Miles Apart Records.
In April 2015 he assembled a live band, and played his first show at the Subbacultcha day party at the Motel Mozaïque festival. The band was selected for the Popronde that year and they played various performances including support for TOPS, Sunflower Bean and Westkust, Incubate Zero, Le Mini Who? and the Metropolis Festival.
After several EP’s including 2015’s ‘Mountain Boy’, Rotterdam based bedroom producer Jasper Boogaard acquired a live band. As a full-fledged band the jangly dreampop outfit recorded their newest EP ‘Letters to Japan’ at the Schenk Studio in Amsterdam, set to release on the 28th of September on 12” through Coaster Records.
